In this workshop, we'll explore the technique of transfer printing on clay – a creative method for transferring ornaments, patterns, text, and images onto ceramic surfaces. Laser copies serve as the substrate, which are then printed onto clay, porcelain, or engobes using pigments or oxides. The result isn't an exact reproduction, but rather vibrant, unique pieces.
Sibylle Ritter will guide you through the process step by step, demonstrating the necessary materials and various application possibilities – from flat slabs to smooth-walled vessels. We'll create simple clay slabs and plates and experiment with our own designs or choose from a large collection of patterns and ornaments. This will result in personal surfaces that gain depth and expression through the hands-on process.

About the artist:
Sibylle Ritter is a ceramic artist living in Burgundy, France. She studied at the State Academy of Fine Arts Stuttgart and has taught at various art colleges and universities, including in South Africa and Germany.
