Sculpturin in Wax - Developing Figures and Forms for Beginners and Advanced Participants
In this workshop, we will explore modelling figures in wax as a preparation for bronze casting. Guided by sculptor Amir Omerovic, you will create small sculptural works that can be figurative or freely developed.
Starting with your own idea or motif, you will learn how to work with wax as a modelling material and gradually develop your own sculpture. Natural materials such as twigs, leaves or flowers can also be incorporated into your work, opening up further possibilities for shape and composition.
Alongside the practical work, Amir Omerovic will introduce you to the bronze casting process and explain the different stages from the wax model to the finished bronze. The pieces created during the workshop can afterwards be cast in bronze at a foundry in Bremen. If you wish, you can also be present during the bronze casting. The workshop is suitable for beginners and advanced participants.

About the artist
Amir Omerovic is a sculptor based in Bremen. He studied sculpture at the University of the Arts Bremen and has taught there as well as at HKS Ottersberg. His work has received several awards, including first prize at the Biennial of Miniature Art in Tuzla. Find out more at amiromerovic.de
Voices from the Workshop
Arrival on Friday from 3 pm. The event begins at 4 pm with a welcome coffee and an introduction to the topic. On Sunday, we will finish around 3:30 pm, with breaks only for good conversation and delicious food.
