Basket weaving with spiral technique using willow – for beginners & advanced students

In this weekend basket weaving workshop, we'll discover a new form of basket weaving together: the spiral technique, developed by Klaus Titze. We'll work with thick, untreated willow and learn step by step how to twist, tuck, and shape it into spirals, similar to thick ropes. The resulting tension often creates unique and surprising forms. At the end, we'll create elegant baskets and objects that we can take home with us.

What to expect

Introduction to the spiral technique with willow – directly from its creator, Klaus Titze
Design of baskets and artistic woven objects
Creative work with natural materials
Personal instruction & exchange in a small group
All materials & tools are provided

This course is suitable for both beginners and advanced participants; no prior knowledge is required.

The perfect balance between weaving vases, wastepaper baskets, or potato husks, taking indulgent breaks and snacking, and exploring telepathy and product design. Conclusion: In the end, everything will be alright!
