In this workshop we explore the creative world of printmaking. Under the guidance of German printmaker and designer Ulrike Viola Henrich, participants learn the basics of relief, intaglio and monotype printing and experiment with different materials and processes.
We begin with linocut, from sketch to print, exploring color application and simple multi-color techniques. In the intaglio section we work with drypoint etching on plexiglass, transferring fine lines and textures onto high-quality paper. Ulrike also introduces monotype printing — a spontaneous, painterly process that produces one-of-a-kind prints through layered color and free experimentation.
Throughout the weekend, the focus is on hands-on experience, material exploration, and discovering your personal artistic expression. The course is suitable for both beginners and experienced print enthusiasts.

About the Artist
Ulrike Viola Henrich is a designer (M.A.) and printmaker based in Cologne. After more than 25 years in graphic design, she now works primarily in fine art printmaking. Her prints have been shown internationally in France, Denmark, and Italy, and she was awarded the 2024 Denis Diderot Grant for Artists. With extensive teaching experience in museums and art institutions, she brings both expertise and enthusiasm to her workshops.
