Large-scale porcelain throwing with Karin Bablok
Advanced porcelain throwing workshop
We combine various techniques to create vessels with a minimum height of 30 cm. With the right finish, pure porcelain can even become selectively transparent. There is much to consider in this process, as porcelain is the most demanding clay body. Karin Bablok, a master in the ceramic craft and a certified artist, adeptly imparts the proper preparation of the 'white gold,' concentrated throwing, meticulous assembling, controlled drying, and precise firing with sensitivity and on an equal footing. A bit of theory is integrated to understand the processes in the clay. Collaborative observation and discussion of works by renowned ceramic artists help us identify design features that are stylistically significant and provide inspiration. The emphasis is clearly on 'doing.'
This workshop is recommended only for participants with prior knowledge.
